A little history of Brewster:
The Cape Cod town of Brewster Massachusetts located on the north side of the Cape. Brewster MA. was settled around 1656 as a northeastern parish of the Cape Cod town of Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Brewster was incorporated as a town of its own in 1803 after separating from Yarmouth in 1693 as the northern parish of the town of Harwich Cape Cod. The town was named after Colonist William Brewster who was one of the leaders of the Pilgrims. Mr. Brewster was born in Scrooby, England in 1567 and came over on the Mayflower.
Known as a Sea Captains town Brewster has many wonderful Historic Homes, B&Bs’, Antique Shops and galleries along the Old Kings Highway (Route 6A). With many beautiful beaches, NickersonState Park, nationally acclaimed Captains Golf Course and the Cape Cod Rail Trail visitors and locals enjoy all Brewster has to offer.
